Cincinnati(OH) and Newport(KY), US – Video

Cincinnati is Ohio’s third largest city and the largest metro region, and lies on the north bank of the Ohio River in Southwest Ohio in the USA. Cincinnati is a distinctly Midwestern city, and it has been wrapped up in every phase of American history. It was one of the US’ early boomtowns, and the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood is the largest National Historic District in the country.

Newport is a city on the Ohio River in Northern Kentucky. Founded in the 1790’s by James Taylor, Jr., Newport is named after British Admiral Christopher Newport, who helped to found the Jamestown colony in 1607.

National Underground Railroad Freedom Center – The Freedom Centers physical location in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, is just a few steps from the banks of the Ohio River, the great natural barrier that separated the slave states of the South from the free states of the North.
