The North American blizzard of 2010, also known as the Great February Blizzard, was a winter storm and severe weather event that tracked from California through northern Mexico, the American Southwest, the Midwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Maryland was under a state of emergency as of mid-day on Feb 6, as state and county roads crews said they were struggling to keep even one lane open on major roads and 151,000 customers were without power in MD, including 34,000 BGE Co. customers in the region.(Feb 5, 6 and 7, 2010)
