– This is a solemn occasion to celebrate both oldest and largest democracies of USA and India.
– Mr. Venkatesan Ashok, the Consul General of India and Congressman Ro Khanna arrived at 6 pm at the venue to grace the occasion.
– Vibrant cultural performances, kids fashion show, patriotic songs, dance competition, and great music while networking with invited dignitaries.

The Consulate General of India invited Indian community and local Govt officials to the Reception held on January 26, 2017 to celebrate the Republic Day of India at the India Community Center, Milpitas, CA.
A small group of local VIPs, business people and Indian American community leaders got the chance to meet with the SF Indian consul general, Venkatesan Ashok, at a reception at the India Community Center in honor of Indian Republic Day Jan 26th.

Christmas in the Park is an annual holiday tradition that takes place in the heart of Downtown San Jose at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez. For over 30 years, this whimsical event has brought people from all over the Bay Area together during the holidays.
Each year, the two-acre park is transformed into a holiday fantasy with over 60 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights and the 60-foot Community Giving Tree. Some of the original displays housed in one of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, include a melting snowman, caroling mice and elf woodcrafters. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees decorated by San Jose schools, community groups and businesses.
Christmas in the Park is a non-profit organization that is supported through fundraising efforts and is free to the public. Children can have their photograph taken with Santa, watch nightly entertainment and enjoy holiday themed refreshments.
The City of San Jose is an in-kind sponsor and works closely with in providing services. It takes more than 260,000 volunteer hours from Board Members and the community to bring this well-loved holiday tradition to San Jose each year.

The swimming pools on the island are well-maintained and clean. Visitors, who do not want to spend time in the pools, can opt for other watersports or try their hand at fishing and angling.
