  • Prince George County Fair, Upper Marlboro, MD, US

    The Prince Georges County Fair began in 1842 as a friendly gathering for local farmers to showcase their produce and livestock and have a little fun. The oldest running Fair in Maryland!

    Though it started out as mostly livestock and field crops, eventually it came to include womens arts as well, with competitions for the best jams, jellies, canned goods, pies, breads, cookies, clothing, quilts, and handicrafts. It was (and is) quite an honor to be deemed the best in the County!…

    Did you know they still hold competitions in all these areas plus photography, fine arts, woodworking, basket making, flower arranging, and more? The Open Class area accepts entries from any of the 5 Southern Maryland Counties and also from our District of Columbia neighbors. Theres no charge to enter your work, and the top three winners in each class receive a ribbon and a small monetary award.

    This video was recorded on Sept 13, 2009 around 2PM. Ukrainian Festival, Patterson Park, Baltimore, MD, US.

    The Baltimore Ukrainian Festival Committees mission and purpose is to continue the tradition of sharing the Ukrainian culture and heritage through out the state of Maryland and participate in the Baltimore Showcase of Nations Ukrainian Festival and the International Festival.

    The Annual Ukrainian Festival was held in the month of July from 1976-1995. In 1996, the annual date was changed to the month of September due to cooler weather. The festival site has been held through-out Baltimore in various places, but has found a home in beautiful Patterson Park, 400 S Linwood Ave corner of Eastern Ave.

    “Flags to the Fort! Ceremony” – Join the 1814 defenders of Baltimore as they march with the “Star-Spangled Banner” from the National War of 1812 Museum & Star Spangled Banner Flag House to the Inner Harbor. The march begins at 5:50 p.m.

    Welcome to the 55th Annual Greenbelt Labor Day Festival! The City of Greenbelt is honored to host this unique community celebration, which is the largest event of its kind in the State of Maryland and provides so much enjoyment to all its citizens.

    Parade – There will be floats, bands, fire trucks, the color guard, the Lone Ranger, community organizations, a Zamboni and the Miss Greenbelt participants. The Grand Marshall is Greenbelt’s Outstanding Citizen. Sign language interpreter at the reviewing stand across from the Municipal Building…
