    The Bridge connects San Francisco to Californias northern counties. With its tremendous 746-foot tall towers, sweeping main cables, signature International Orange color, and Art Deco styling, it is a sensory experience featuring color, light, and sound. With more than 10 million annual visitors, be ready for crowds (especially during the summer) and changing weather conditions.

    The all new visitor experiences are centered around an all new Bridge Plaza at the south east end. The visitor experience was recently renovated and renewed by our non-profit partner, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, as their gift to the Golden Gate Bridge in honor if its 75th anniversary which was celebrated on May 27, 2012.

    Taking public transit to the Golden Gate Bridge is the best way to get to the Bridge because parking is extremely limited and construction projects occurring at or near the Bridge.

    Picture a 3.5-mile stretch of white beach with few tourists and no highrises. It’s just you and the waves and the seabirds at Ocean Beach, on the westernmost border of San Francisco, adjacent to Golden Gate Park. Great for strolling and flying kites, but the water is frigid and the currents hazardous for all but the most experienced surfers.

    The sunniest months for a beach walk are September and October.

    The beach is almost always covered in fog throughout late spring and summer, with average temperatures in the 50s.

    Fire rings were installed in April 2007 as a way to allow and enjoy fires on the beach.

    Macys Union Square Showcases Rooftop Gardens and a Host of In-Store Events.

    San Franciscos Union Square Macys welcomes spring with the annual Macys Flower Show, a gift to the city of San Francisco and surrounding Bay Area. The Secret Garden, this years floral extravaganza, will offer spectators a peek behind the magic and majesty of a variety of lush landscapes. Macys Flower Show will showcase two weeks of in-store special events, with music, fashion, cooking and D-I-Y demonstrations that will delight floral fanatics while celebrating the rejuvenating power of the season. The gardens include: The Abandoned Estate, Maze Garden, Junkyard Garden, and Rooftop Gardens. The rooftop-themed gardens will showcase multiple concepts, including fruits and vegetables, wild flowers, Southwest cactus, Zen, tropical and a formal garden placed within San Francisco scenery.

    The Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple is a project sponsored by the Hanuman Fellowship and is located within the grounds of the Mount Madonna Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences, a residential private retreat and conference center. Established in 1978 by the students of Baba Hari Dass, Mount Madonna Center is a community designed to nurture the creative arts and the health sciences within a context of personal and spiritual growth. Residents of the Center are a group whose talents and interests are unified by the common practice of Yoga.

    They welcome you to the Temple and Center. Please be mindful that many guests come to the Center for meditation and contemplation. They encourage quiet and reflection.

    Jack London (Jan 12, 1876 – Nov 22, 1916) was an American author who wrote The Call of the Wild, White Fang, and The Sea Wolf along with many other popular books.

    Jack London spent much of his boyhood on the waterfront that is now Jack London Square. Here, his youthful adventures as an oyster pirate and sailor inspired stories like The Sea-Wolf. Visit the life sized bronze stature of Jack London standing watch over the waterfront at the foot of Broadway. This bronze sculpture was created by artist Cedric Wentworth.

    The San Francisco Ferry Building was built by the Harbor Commission for less than one million dollars and quickly became one of the most profitable investments in state history. In the 1920s, fifty million passengers a year and a great number of automobiles used the ferries.

    The Port of San Francisco lies on the western edge of the San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate. It has been called one of the three great natural harbors in the world, but it took two long centuries for navigators from Spain and England to find the anchorage originally called Yerba Buena. A port, as was said in its early days, in which all the fleets of the world could find anchorage.

    The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is a California certified farmers market operated by the nonprofit Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA). The market is widely acclaimed for both the quality and diversity of its fresh farm products, and artisan and prepared foods.

    The St. Patricks Day Parade celebrates and showcases Irish community, Irish culture and character in all its forms. Featured groups from throughout the Bay Areas Irish community including schools, youth organizations, labor unions, cultural groups, as well as the San Francisco Police and Fire Departments will march down Market Street. Again this year, the popular Festival will be held at Civic Center Plaza, in front of City Hall before, during and after the Parade. The Festival gives you an opportunity to learn more about Irish history and culture.There will be live music, Irish food and Beverages, dancing and cultural and business exhibits for the entire family to enjoy.

    Vedic Dharma Samaj is a non-profit, tax exempt religious organization. It is dedicated to serve the religious and cultural needs of the Hindu community.

    Vedic Dharma Samaj also known as the Fremont Hindu Temple has been serving members of the Hindu community in the Bay area, CA, since 1985.

    The outside of the temple is divided into two distinct halves. On one side is the new construction that is the traditional Indian Hindu temple. The other half is the temples social hall and library. To the side of the social hall is a pleasant kitchen area used by the temple to prepare community meals or for any catering for receptions.

    There are several different services that the temple offers the community. The temple is open all days of the week. On Sundays, a regular Sunday worship program of Bhajans, Pravachan and Priti Bhoj is conducted. Yoga Classes are also held at the temple.
