  • USS Monsoon(PC-4) Tour, Baltimore, MD, US – Video

    One of the Navys newest ship is the USS Monsoon. The primary mission of the Patrol Coastal ships is coastal patrol and interdiction surveillance. The Cyclone-class PCs are particularly suited for the maritime homeland security mission and have been employed jointly with the U.S. Coast Guard to help protect our nations coastline, ports and waterways from terrorist attack; in addition, the ships have been forward deployed to the Gulf region in support of the war on terrorism.

  • Patapsco Valley State Park – Hilton Area Hiking, Catonsville, MD, US – Pictures – Upcoming Video

    The Hilton Area is located off of Hilton Avenue in Catonsville. This area is within walking distance of many residents in Catonsville. A popular spot for afternoon walks and morning workouts, the trails are active with local residents and far away visitors.

    The Hilton Area is a cool place for families. There is a recycled tire playground for children 5-12 years of age and nature center is located in this area, too. Though small in size nature center is the hub for exploration.

    Seasonal interpretive programs meet at the nature center offering activities for our young park visitors. Programs like Junior Rangers and Little Sprouts are available to peak a future Ranger’s curiosity.

    You can also gain access to the River by traveling down into the river valley along the Forest Glen Trail. This trail follows the Saw Mill Branch Stream and can connect with several trails to make for very interesting hiking adventures. One of the most unique features in this area can be found along the Sawmill Branch Trail – the trail actually takes you boulder hopping in the stream.

    Many of the trails in Patapsco have stream crossings that are just stepping stones, no bridges, so the hiker might get some wet feet on occasion. This area also has a small campground with six mini-cabins and 12 basic campsites.

    Mountain Bikers will enjoy the challenges presented along the Santee Branch Trail as it connects with more challenging trails in this section of the park and in the Glen Artney, Avalon, and Orange Grove areas of the park. Hilton is a place for kids of all ages to play and explore.

  • The Flag Day and FireWorks at Fort McHenry, Baltimore, MD, US – Video

    This ceremony will take place at the main event stage in between the Star Fort and the statue of Orpheus. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the ceremony will include the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem, and performances by Maryland Sings, Angela Hart, the Show Time Singers, the Chorus of the Chesapeake, and the Morgan State University Chorus. At dark, there will be fireworks by Zambelli. All times and performances are subject to change or cancellation.

  • Sailabration Aircraft Display and Festival, Middle River, MD, US – Video

    Then watch as some of those static aircraft line up in formation for take-off and become airborne. They will fly to Baltimores the Middle River at Fort McHenry. After the take-offs, get a good look at the Maryland Air National Guards own special aircraft, the A-10 which will stay at MSA, home to Marylands Air National Guard. Visit the historic A-4 Skyhawk, lovingly restored by the Glenn L. Martin Aviation Museum, along with other military aircraft.

  • Star-Spangled Sailabration Air Show(Rehearsal), Baltimore, MD, US – Video

    The air show will feature eight high-precision aviation acts from the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, featuring the famed Blue
    Angels. The Show will feature five high-precision aviation over a two-and-a-half-hour period between 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on June 16 and 17. The featured act will be the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. The air show will take place over the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River.

  • Sailabration – Free Visiting Ship Tour, Baltimore, MD, US – Video

    Star-Spangled Sailabration will feature more than 40 U.S., British, Canadian, Dominican, Danish, German, Japanese and Norwegian naval vessels and tall ships from around the globe. The ships will be open June 14 -18 for public visitation. Ships berthed at the Inner Harbor and Fells Point are generally open for touring from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and naval vessels at North Locust Point will be open for tours from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

    The USS Fort McHenry is the third Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship. She was named for Fort McHenry, in Baltimore, Maryland, the 1814 defense of which inspired “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

  • The Glenn L Martin Maryland Aviation Museum, Middle River, MD, US – Video

     Operated by dedicated volunteers, the Museum is active in the cultural life of surrounding communities and has begun to extend its activities state-wide. The Museum is certified by the U.S. Navy and Army. All funds required for the acquisition, restoration, maintenance, and display of museum material are derived from individual and corporate donations. Members of the Museum share a desire to preserve aviation history and we welcome all those who share the same interests.

  • Sailabration – Embark the USS San Antonio(LPD-17 Tour), Baltimore, MD, US – Video


    The USS San Antonio is the first amphibious transport dock of the 12-ship San Antonio class. She is used to transport and land Marines, their equipment and supplies by embarked air cushion or conventional landing craft or Expeditionary Fighting Vehicles, augmented by helicopters or vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. She will support amphibious assault, special ops or expeditionary warfare missions through the first half of the 21st century.

  • The Star-Spangled Banner Flag House, Baltimore, MD, US – Pictures – Upcoming Video

    Built in 1793, the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House was the home and place of business of Mary Pickersgill, maker of the flag that flew over Fort McHenry during the British attack in 1814. Today, it is a living-history museum that offers a view of American life during the early 19th century.

    In 1813 Fort McHenrys commanding officer Major George Armistead commissioned Mary Pickersgill, an experienced flag maker to create a flag that was “so large that the British will have no difficulty seeing it from a distance”. During the bombardment of Fort McHenry, U.S. Attorney Francis Scott Key was aboard a British truce vessel. Inspired by the vision of the 30inch x 42inch flag, he wrote the poem that would become our national anthem.

    Following the War of 1812, the flag developed into a dominant national symbol. The Star-Spangled Banner began to represent the broad ideals and values of a nation. Today the American flag evokes a special patriotic feeling – freedom, democracy and what it means to be an American.
