    Sunnyvale Hindu Temple was established in 1992. First Puja was performed on Feb 10th 1993. The most popular Hindu religious center in Bay Area, California and a very active community Center.

    The facility includes a Temple that can accommodate 980+ devotees and a community center auditorium with nearly 1000 members capacity. Smaller venues of 130+ and 20+ people accommodation for religious activities are located within the temple premises.

    Annual festivals of Holi, Diwali and Navaratri are celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm at the temple and festivals of different regions of India are also celebrated, eg: Ugadi, Jagannath Rath yatra, Durga Puja, Murugan Puja, etc.

    The Auditorium has hosted numerous functions and festival of all Indian groups based in Bay Area.

The organization is based on the teachings and philosophy of Shirdi Sai Baba, a great saint from India. Sai Baba taught the unity of all religions, universality of spirit in all existence and compassion for all living beings. Shirdi Sai Babas main attraction has been His embodiment of dispassion, purity, and simplicity.

    Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Devasthanam, was started in 2007 and run by a non-profit organization VEDA (Vedic Education and Devotional Academy). In a short span of over 3 years, they purchased a permanent building for the temple at Milpitas and began operations on the auspicious day of 3rd July, 2010.

    They are organizing various Hindu religious activities like Festivals, Vedic rituals, spiritual and cultural events. They conduct group Satynarayana Vratams at temple on every Full-moon day. All Hindu religious festivals are celebrated and large number of devotees participate regularly. The highlight event of last year was Samuhika Satyanarayana Swamy vratam performed by Annavaram priests by bringing the divine idols from Annaavaram, A.P, India. This event was a huge success with large participation of devotees with a great enthusiasm and bhakti from all parts of the Bay area.

    Hindu Community and Cultural Center was incorporated in 1977. The need for a place where Hindus can pray, study religion and have cultural programs was seen as necessary and it was in this mood the birth of this organization took place . . .

    The deities in the main temple are: Ganesha, Shiva, Parvati, Kartikeya, Sridevi (Lakshmi), Vishnu, Bhoodevi, Radha-Krishna, Rama-Sita, Navagraha, Hanuman, Kalabhairava, and Dashbhuja Durga. Deity Kanaka Durga Devi is in Kanaka Durga prayer hall. Serving the devotee needs as per Hindu traditions and sampradayas in authentic way is objective of HCCC.

    Lake Merritt is a large tidal lagoon in the center of Oakland, California, just east of Downtown. It is surrounded by parkland and city neighborhoods. It is historically significant as the United States first official wildlife refuge, designated in 1870, and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1966.

    The lake features grassy shores; several artificial islands intended as bird refuges; an interpretive center called the Rotary Nature Center; a boating center where sailboats, canoes and rowboats can be rented and classes are held; and a fairy tale themed amusement park called Childrens Fairyland. A popular 3.1 mile (5 km) walking and jogging path runs along its perimeter. The circumference of the lake is 3.4 miles (5.5 km) and its area is 155 acres (63 ha).
