Three miles west of Muir Woods along the coastline, Muir Beach is a quiet cove, beach and lagoon favored by locals.
Redwood Creek at Muir Beach is home to numerous shorebirds, amphibians, salmon and trout, and marshy, water-loving plants called rushes (Juncus).
