    Raleigh was named for Sir Walter Raleigh, the famed English soldier, adventurer, and poet. It is the capital of North Carolina and home to North Carolina State University, two historically black universities, Shaw and Saint Augustine, and two women’s colleges, Peace and Meredith.

    With a plethora of things to see and do, Raleigh is a wonderful place to live, work, or visit.

    Raleigh is known as the “City of Oaks” for its many oak trees.

    Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill make up the three historically primary cities of the Research Triangle metropolitan region. The regional nickname of “The Triangle” originated after the 1959 creation of the Research Triangle Park, primarily located in Durham County, four miles from Downtown Durham and encompassed on three sides by the City of Durham and roughly midway between the cities of Raleigh and Chapel Hill and the three major research universities of NC State University, Duke University, and UNC-Chapel Hill.

    Wilmington is a city in North Carolina. Located in the southeastern part of the state, it is home to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, the U.S.S. North Carolina Battleship Memorial, the Cape Fear Museum, Airlie Gardens, and a large historic district. It is convenient to nearby beaches, and is a relatively short drive from the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill), Charlotte, Myrtle Beach, SC, and the I-95 corridor.

    Charlotte is an ambitious and very rapidly growing city in the southern part of central North Carolina. It is the largest city in the state. As of 2006, the Charlotte-Gastonia-Salisbury combined statistical area (CSA) had a regional population of 2,389,763. It is the center of finance, industry, technology, and entertainment for the region.

    Primarily known in the past as a business center, Charlotte is steadily developing its fledgling tourist industry; currently its central core is one of the most visitor-friendly districts in the Carolinas.

  • Cherokee(The Museum of the Cherokee Indian), NC, US – Video

    Cherokee is a town in Swain County, North Carolina within the Qualla Boundary, the proper name of the Cherokee Indian (Eastern Band) Reservation.

    This is the center of Cherokee culture in North Carolina (and indeed the eastern US). Many natives call this area home, the Cherokee language is also spoken by many in this area. The town was established by the Cherokee who stayed behind while the US Government forced them west in the Trail of Tears. Those who stayed behind hid in the mountains that now make up the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

  • Carolina Beach, NC, US – Pictures – Upcoming Video

    Carolina Beach is a town and tourist resort in North Carolina. Located on a peninsula bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Fear River, Carolina Beach is a popular summer destination for students and other beachgoing tourists.

    The best way to get to Carolina Beach is by traveling south on NC-421 from Wilmington.Because of limited parking, the best way to get around Carolina Beach is on foot or by bicycle.

    Carolina Beach State Park. It has one of the most beautiful beaches. The island on which the park resides is a barrier island and the park is located on the inland side of the island. The beaches of the park are actually along the Cape Fear river and a man made waterway known as Snow’s Cut. It’s about a one mile walk to get to the ocean from the park.

    The best time to visit to avoid crowds is early September. The water is still warm (in the 80’s) but since school has started, most of the tourists are gone.
