Throughout Fleet Week(Oct 1st to 9th – 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM), thousands of visitors climb aboard amphibious carriers, destroyers and cruisers docked at the Embarcadero to get a glimpse into the day-to-day lives of the sailors serving in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Canadian Navy.
The public was encouraged to attend tours and interact with Sailors, Coasties and Marines.
When touring the ships, visitors are encouraged to bring as few items as possible when arriving for their tour and are recommended to wear flat-heeled, closed-toe shoes. High heel shoes are not permitted.
No pre-registration or RSVP is required; first come, first served basis.
All persons visiting the ships 18 years of age and over are required to show a valid US state/federal government issued photo identification card.
Tours may not be appropriate for those with certain medical conditions. There are steep ladders (stairways) to climb and uneven surfaces to traverse during a ship tour, and thus, tours may be difficult for parents carrying young children.
Failure to consent to screening and inspection will result in denial of authorization to enter the property.

2. USCGC Stratton is the third Legend-class cutter of the United States Coast Guard. It is the first -white hull- cutter named after a woman since the 1980s. Stratton is named for Coast Guard Captain Dorothy C. Stratton. It is a National Security Cutter (418 feet long, 54′ beam, 30 ft. draft) homeported in Alameda, CA.

FIA/FOG in association with Fremont temple is organizing 8th grand Ganesh Visarjan (immersion) in San Francisco Bay.
Large crowd of Devotees were participated in this exciting cultural event and cruise in SF for Ganesh Visarjan.
When: Sunday, September 10th., 2017 at 10 am
Where: Fremont Temple: 3676 Delaware Drive, Fremont, CA, 94538.
Ganesh Pooja at the temple started at 10 am. Devotees departed in buses from Fremont temple at 11am for SF bay. From there, Devotees boarded a ship onto the bay and performed Ganesh Visarjan (immersion). At 3.30 pm buses got them back from SF to the Fremont temple (Estimated arriving time 4:30 pm).

The Fort has been called -the pride of the Pacific-, -the Gibraltar of the West Coast- and one of the most perfect models of masonry in America.
From its vantage point overlooking the spectacular Golden Gate, Fort Point defended the San Francisco Bay following Californias Gold Rush through World War II. Its beautifully arched casemates display the art of 3rd system brick masonry and interacts gracefully with the Golden Gate Bridge.
Fort Point was built between 1853 and 1861 by the U.S. Army Engineers as part of a defense system of forts planned for the protection of San Francisco Bay.

The Consulate General of India, San Francisco has organized the 2nd International Yoga Day (IYD) in San Francisco on June 18, 2016 from 9.00 AM-1 PM at County Fair Building, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.
The event was organized in association with several Yoga associations based in San Francisco and Bay Area including Isha Foundation, Brahmakumaris, Art of Living, Self Realization Fellowship, Path to Anandam, Yoga Society of San Francisco, Yoga Ascent of North America (YANA) etc.
The event was inaugurated by Consul General Shri Ashok Venkatesan who stated that India is the birth place of Yoga and at present, it is being practiced widely by people of many countries. The programme started with the screening of the Video Messages of Honarable Prime Minister of India and Honarable Minister of External Affairs, followed by common Yoga Protocol. Subsequently, several sessions on different aspects of Yoga were held by the Yoga Partners of the event.
The event was attended by around 1200-1500 people from San Francisco, the Bay Area and other places of California. Most of the participants were local US Citizens which mainly included women and youngsters, who have attended with mush enthusiasm and interest.

The San Francisco Carnaval Festival transforms Harrison Street into a wonderland. The 2016 theme is – Viva La Madre Tierra, which is Spanish for Mother Earth, celebrates Mother Earths prevalence in many cultures worldwide as the manifestation of the natural world.
Spanning eight blocks, this two-day annual street festival takes place on Harrison Street between 16th and 24th Streets.
On Sunday, the Grand Parade starts at the corner of 24th and Bryant Streets, where it will proceed west to Mission Street. From there, the parade heads north on Mission down to 17th Street, where it will turn east and flow into the festival area.
Enjoy more than 50 colorful music and dance groups in colorful Carnaval costumes will dazzle the expected crowd of 400,000 spectators lining the streets.

Helping establish the nations best-known organization of farm workers and directing the first national boycott of California table grapes are just a few of civil rights leader Dolores Huertas many feats.
The Parade is an extraordinary, must-see event that is represented by and honors cultures from around the world. Alongside brilliant floats, lavishly dressed performers and musicians will entertain the crowd as the parade makes its way through the Mission District. A vast variety of cultures will be represented, featuring old and new traditions by way of music, dance and artistry.

The biggest Super Bowl the NFL(National Football League) has ever celebrated, and one that will be uniquely Bay Area.
The first Super Bowl was held in California, so what a perfect place to celebrate a Super Bowl of this significance—this golden moment right here in the Golden State.
The 50th playing of the Super Bowl will take place in the new Levis Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
Super Bowl 50 Week will feature activities throughout the region, with the main hub of activity in the City of San Francisco. NFL Experience will be
hosted in Moscone Center North and South in downtown San Francisco.
Super Bowl City—the Host Committees public experience and free-to-the-public fan village housed by the Ferry Building at the foot of Market Street—
will feature activities for all ages, as well as showcase all the Bay Area has to offer from arts and culture to regional food and drink.
The NFL Experience and Super Bowl City are open January 30 – February 7, 2016 in San Francisco.
