Balavikas of Fairfax is a voluntary organization established by Dr. G. V .V. Rao, with the motto of – Find God, that is the only purpose in Life -, for the past thirty years. BalaVikas of Fairfax has been instrumental in preserving the cultural values in children as well as the grown ups in the Washington D.C metropolitan area.

Durga temple was the first temple of Bhagwati Durgaji built in USA. This temple is the place of worship for people of all Hindu faiths. The deities in this temple include Durgaji, Shiv-Parivar, Shri Radha-Krishna, Ram darbar, Hanumanji, Lakshmi-Narayanji, Balaji, Shri Mahavirji, Shri Jhulelalji, Shri Shridi Saibaba and Maa Santoshi. The priests provide religious services at the temple and outside locations. All major Hindu festivals are celebrated. The temple holds a variety of educational cultural activities.

Through corporate sponsorships of teams at various levels, the biennial Dragon Boat Races are a major source of operating income for Catholic Charities. The event is free for spectators and is a fun-filled day for thousands of people who enjoy the day-long races and entertainment. Catholic Charities is Marylands leading provider of human services. Catholic Charities serves people of all faiths – 160,000 people and 350,000 meals to hungry Baltimoreans every year.

This 77-acre park features three baseball fields; an open-play area; a large playground for all abilities; two tennis courts; two basketball courts; two picnic pavilions; and approximately 2.5 miles of sidewalks and pathways, plus a 2.5-mile loop circling the park, parking, landscape, and restroom facilities.
All of our parks are inhabited by a wide variety of wildlife such as deer, snakes, fish, rabbits, insects and birds. Please do not disturb them; remember, this is their home.

The Virginia Indian Festival returns to Riverbend Park on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Spend a wonderful day meeting Native Americans from the Chickahominy, Mattaponi, Pamunkey, Rappahannock, Tauxenent, Upper Mattaponi tribes and the Monacan Nation.
See dance performances, and learn about early Indian skills through the dug-out canoe demonstration. Try throwing a spear or shooting a bow. The festival will feature crafts for sale such as pottery, jewelry, flutes and dream catchers. You’ll also find lunch and snacks for sale, plus music CDs and T-shirts.
