Baltimores Inner Harbor is one of the most photographed and visited areas of the city. It has been one of the major seaports in the United States since the 1700s and started blossoming into the cultural center of Baltimore in the 1970s.

Brookside Gardens is Montgomery Countys incomparable, award-winning 50-acre public display garden situated within Wheaton Regional Park.
Included in the gardens are several distinct areas: Aquatic Garden, Azalea Garden, Butterfly Garden, Childrens Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Style Garden, Trial Garden, Rain Garden and the Woodland Walk.
The Formal Gardens areas include a Perennial Garden, Yew Garden, the Maple Terrace, and Fragrance Garden. Brookside Gardens also feature two conservatories for year-round enjoyment. A horticultural reference library is located in the airy Visitors Center. Admission is free.

Public Open House – August 4 and 5, 2012 – 8:30am to 12pm
The historic Maryland House of Correction, opened in 1879 and closed in 2007, will open its doors one last time before deconstruction begins later this year. MHC is the second oldest state correctional facility. The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services has developed a unique Public Safety Works program where offenders, working under a contractor, will take down the House brick by brick while learning deconstruction skills and salvaging building materials that would otherwise take up space in Maryland landfills.
In conjunction with the Maryland Historic Trust, the Department will be conducting two days of tours this summer to educate citizens about correctional practices of the past, while also preserving the historical significance of the building. On Jul 14 and 15 tours were held for DPSCS employees past and present, along with their families. Over 500 people attended. The public tour will be held Aug 4 and 5.

Starting May 20th, come to free yoga classes at the Inner Harbor in West Shore Park, right between the Science Center and the Visitors Center! Classes are all-levels.

Baltimore/Washington One Caribbean Carnival. The DC Caribbean Carnival is combined with Baltimores celebration. On Saturday July 14, 2012, the Parade started at Noon at 900 E 33rd Street, travelled along Alameda Street to St. Lo Drive. The Festival continues at Lake Clifton Park until 10:00 pm; On Sunday July 15, 2012 the Festival continues from Noon to 9:00 pm featuring entertainment, food and crafts. There is entrance fee.

The Hilton Area is located off of Hilton Avenue in Catonsville. This area is within walking distance of many residents in Catonsville. A popular spot for afternoon walks and morning workouts, the trails are active with local residents and far away visitors.
The Hilton Area is a cool place for families. There is a recycled tire playground for children 5-12 years of age and nature center is located in this area, too. Though small in size nature center is the hub for exploration.

Built in 1793, the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House was the home and place of business of Mary Pickersgill, maker of the flag that flew over Fort McHenry during the British attack in 1814. Today, it is a living-history museum that offers a view of American life during the early 19th century.
