  • Bur Dubai Abra Dock(Boat ride or Water Taxi), Dubai, UAE – Pictures – Upcoming Video

    In the historic district, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai, is an affordable 10-minute traditonal wooden boat ride — really a taxi. Take the abra from the Bastakiya side, look around the textile souk and the art galleries, and end in the gold souk. Used by 15-20 million passengers each year, the Abra Dock in Bur Dubai is a memorable cruise in the water.

    The World Congress of Religions 2012 will explore the relevance of religion and spirituality in addressing the critical issues of poverty, the empowerment of women, human rights and peacemaking. The gathering will bring together engaged leaders, scholars, activists and members from diverse religious and spiritual communities, engaged actors in the local and global interreligious movements, as well as influential policy makers and civil society actors from guiding institutions such as government, business, education, science, media, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The event is inspired and informed by the message of the religious and social visionary, Swami Vivekananda, on the 150 th anniversary of his birth.

    The Institute of World Religions of the Washington Kali Temple is dedicated to creating an environment where one can engage in discussions about theological principles, religious beliefs and spiritual practices, and fosters an interfaith search for shared values and mutual respect.

    Shakti is Johns Hopkins Universitys Classical Indian Dance team. Shakti was started in 2003 by a group of interested students that came together to keep their culture alive through classical dance.

    Every year Shakti hosts a Classical Indian Arts exhibition, Nritya Mala, on the JHU campus. They bring together collegiate classical dance and music teams from across the country to share their beautiful culture with everyone. 100% of the proceeds from the show go to the Indian child relief organization, CRY.

    Shakti is Johns Hopkins Universitys Classical Indian Dance team. Shakti was started in 2003 by a group of interested students that came together to keep their culture alive through classical dance.

    Every year Shakti hosts a Classical Indian Arts exhibition, Nritya Mala, on the JHU campus. They bring together collegiate classical dance and music teams from across the country to share their beautiful culture with everyone. 100% of the proceeds from the show go to the Indian child relief organization, CRY.

    UMD Moksha – Moksha is the University of Marylands only classical Indian dance team.

    Case Western Nritya – CWRU Nritya is Case Western Reserve Universitys Indian classical dance team. The word nritya is a combination of two fundamental elements of classical dance: nritta, pure dance movements, and abhinaya, the expression of moods through facial and hand movements.

    UNC Ek Taal – UNC Ek Taal is an Indian classical fusion dance team that was formed to encourage the understanding and appreciation for the ancient Indian art form known as Bharatanatyam.

    Pitt Nrityamala – Founded in 2006, Nrityamala is the University of Pittsburghs premier Indian classical dance team.

    Tufts Pulse – Founded in 2010, pulse. is Tufts only competitive Indian Classical Dance team. Our members have backgrounds ranging from Bharatnatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, and Kathak, which makes for an eclectic group of dancers who are constantly learning from one another.

    PSU Natya – PSU Natya is Penn State Universitys classical Indian dance club. Natya is comprised of 10 dedicated dancers with a passion for classical dance.

    JHU Shakti – Shakti is Johns Hopkins Universitys Classical Indian Dance team. Shakti was started in 2003 by a group of interested students that came together to keep their culture alive through classical dance.

  • The Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival, Baltimore, MD, US – Video

    Parade Director Laure Drogoul coordinates our shimmering spectacle! Dragon lanterns glow on the parks Boat Lake, video projections light up the DiPietro Ice Rink bubble in the park, artist installations and performances throughout the Parade Route.

    Raya Brass Band, Marching bands, Fluid Movement, Stilters and more keep your feet moving! All are welcome to dress in costume, make lanterns from repurposed plastic bottles, and carry them in the Parade. Or… watch from anywhere along the route!
