    The tallest Dhyana Buddha, measuring 125 feet, the statue at Amaravati in Guntur district.

    Situated on the banks of Krishna River, the Dhyana Buddha theme project is going to boost tourism in Amaravati, which is in the riverfront capital region.

    The tourism department is planning to operate cruises from Vijayawada to Amaravati.

    The works began in January 2004 on a five-acre site.

    It is a fusion of 50 types of Buddhist sculptures and statues from 145 major heritage sites all over India.

    They have taken the essence of Buddhist teachings found in 24 chapters and 424 stanzas to create 200 panels in the main hall Dhyana Mandiram. The number of visitors in last year was around 5 lakh, including Dalai Lama.

    All around the boundary wall there will be 300 small Dhyana Buddha statues facing the main statue.

    According to Vajrayana traditional sources the Buddha preached at Dharanikota/Dhanyakatakam and conducted Kalachakra ceremony, which would take the antiquity of Amaravati back to 500 BCE.

    The Amaravati Buddhist sculptures are world-famous. Slabs with Buddhist inscriptions were found in its groundwork, the temple is said to have been a Buddhist shrine in the previous times.

    Amaravati is also known as Punyakshetra. When Subramanya killed the demon Tarakasura, the Shivalingam in his throat broke and fell in five different spots, which became the Pancharama kshetras. The foremost of these is Amareswara at Amaravati where Indra and the Devas are believed to have worshipped Shiva.

    Amareswaram is considered sacred because of three things, the Krishna River, an important Kshetra with a Sthalamahatyam and the Sri Mahalinga Murthy, which are three sacred principles embodied in one.

    It was also the capital of Satavahanas, the first great Andhra kings who ruled from the 2nd century BCE to the 3rd century CE, after the downfall of Maurya empire.

    Lord Shiva, present in the form of a 15 ft. high white marble Shiva lingam. The temple is surrounded by 4 high gopuras built in typical Dravidian style.

    Pedakakani is a village in Pedakakani mandal, located in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is also the mandal headquarter, located 7 km towards north of district headquarters Guntur.

    Sages worshiped Lord Shiva who killed demons to protect people of this region from demons. Upon the request from the local people, shiva manifested in the form of linga in the Shiva temple.

    Rahu-Ketu puja is famous here. The Naga devathas installed in the temple.

    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport also known as Hyderabad International Airport, is an international airport near Shamshabad, about 22 km (14 mi) south of downtown Hyderabad.

    The airport is named after former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. It replaced the former international airport of the city, Begumpet Airport. Commercial flight operations began at 12:01 am on 23 March 2008.

    This airport is the second public-private partnership venture in the Indian airports, the first being the Cochin International Airport. For the financial year 2010-11, it was the 6th busiest airport in the country in terms of international and overall passenger traffic.

    Hyderabad international airport has been named amongst the worlds top five in the annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passenger survey along with the ones at Seoul, Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing.

    In 2010, Hyderabad airport was ranked among the top airports of the world in the airport services quality (ASQ) by the global body, Airports Council International (ACI). It serves as a hub for SpiceJet and Lufthansa Cargo and also a focus city for Air India, Jet Airways.

    Secunderabad Railway Station, also referred as Secunderabad Junction, is a major intercity railway station and a commuter rail hub in the Hyderabad Urban Area.

    It is located in the city of Secunderabad and falls under the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways. Built in 1874, by the Nizam of Hyderabad State, during the British era, this station was the main station of the Nizams Railway, until the opening of Kachiguda Railway Station in 1916.

    Later on, its operation was taken over by the Indian Railways in 1951, when the Nizams Railway was nationalized. The main portico and concourse are influenced by Asaf Jahi style architecture. The station building resembles a fort and is one of the tourist attractions in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
