    Kings Beach State Recreation Area features 979 feet of beautiful frontage property along the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. This day-use only area has a large sandy beach and multiple picnic tables under the shade of Jeffery pines.

    It is with 18 picnic tables, barbeques, restrooms, a playground, a half court for basketball, fishing, and water sport activities available.

    It is located in downtown Kings Beach, between Bear and Coon streets on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. The park is approximately one mile west of the Nevada State Line and thirteen miles southeast of Truckee, CA from Highway 267.

Interpretive signs assist in understanding the history of the area. All views are accessible via paved walkways, and the restrooms are accessible, too. Parking can be difficult during busy summer months especially between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please park legally, not along Highway 89.

    Vikingsholm is a magnificent summer castle owned by Mrs. Lora Knight that was completed in 1929.

    -Seaside Beach is the northernmost of 3 separate sections of Monterey State Beach. From here you can walk north below bluffs to Sand City Beach and beyond.
