This year, volunteers have expanded the layout to a 32 x 8 foot two-level platform. They have constructed precise replicas of the Natty Boh building, DJ Liquidators, the Patterson Park Pagoda and the Boat Lake.
Free admission, donations gratefully accepted. The project, is a cooperative effort of the Baltimore City Fire Department, Highlandtown Main Streets and Southeast Community Development Corporation.

Highlandtown Holiday Train Garden chugs into its third season with a new look and local landmarks. Open Fridays, 3-8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 3-Jan. 2 at Engine Company 41, 520 S. Conkling St.
Over 2,000 visitors to last years garden were delighted to see model trains and streetcars travel along the track to pass by animated carnival rides, Santa workshop, and a miniature Highlandtown with storefronts representing landmarks like Hoehns Bakery, Stellas Bridal Fashions, National Lumber and Hardware and the Frank Zappa statue.

The annual Baltimore Farmers Market and Bazaar opens a month early for the 2011 season on Sunday, April 3 through December 18 from 7am to sell out, usually noon.

Free parking at the market is courtesy of Mercy Medical Center. The parking lot is located at Guilford Avenue and Pleasant Street, adjacent to the bazaar lot, and is accessible from Guilford Avenue.

THE AVENUE at White Marsh Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony kicked off the holiday season with the big band sound of The Shades of Blue Orchestra, giveaways for children and even snow – all leading to the arrival of Santa to light our 35-foot tree!

The parade route is through the Fells Point and Inner Harbor areas. There are two groups for forming up; the Inner Harbor Group, and the Fells Point Group. The plan is for two complete passes around the parade route for all boats.
The prizes to be awarded will be for Best in Parade, Best Theme of Christmas, Best Illuminated, Best Large Power Boat, Best Small Power Boat, Best Large Sail Boat and Best Small Sail Boat.
The parade groups formed up after 5:00 p.m., as directed by the Parade Marshall and the assisting Safety Boats. The parade started at 6:00 p.m. in Fells Point and 6:30 in the Inner Harbor.
More than 50 boats and pleasure crafts, bedecked and sparkling in their holiday finery, make their way from Baltimores world-famous Inner Harbor to Fells Point, festooned with holiday lights. Santa Claus himself has been known to set sail for the occasion!

A Monumental Occasion takes place Thursday, December 1, 2011 with pre-event festivities at 6pm in Mount Vernon. The official ceremony begins at 7pm with the official lighting at approximately 7:45pm.
