Visited to a jewel of an East Bay park and spend a day of adventure and learned that allows us to get close to natures flying critters at the Annual Butterfly and Bird Festival on Sunday, June 5, 2016.
The special event was dedicated to increasing the numbers and species of butterflies and birds in Bay Area landscapes. Enjoyed garden tours, family hands-on activities, educational speakers, photo presentations and music. Learned how to bring our backyard to life by creating wildlife friendly habitats.

Carnaval Grand Parade at Mission District, San Francisco, CA, USA – Pictures

The San Francisco Carnaval Festival transforms Harrison Street into a wonderland. The 2016 theme is – Viva La Madre Tierra, which is Spanish for Mother Earth, celebrates Mother Earths prevalence in many cultures worldwide as the manifestation of the natural world.
Spanning eight blocks, this two-day annual street festival takes place on Harrison Street between 16th and 24th Streets.
On Sunday, the Grand Parade starts at the corner of 24th and Bryant Streets, where it will proceed west to Mission Street. From there, the parade heads north on Mission down to 17th Street, where it will turn east and flow into the festival area.
Enjoy more than 50 colorful music and dance groups in colorful Carnaval costumes will dazzle the expected crowd of 400,000 spectators lining the streets.

The Parade is an extraordinary, must-see event that is represented by and honors cultures from around the world. Alongside brilliant floats, lavishly dressed performers and musicians will entertain the crowd as the parade makes its way through the Mission District. A vast variety of cultures will be represented, featuring old and new traditions by way of music, dance and artistry.
Burmese New Year Water Festival(Thingyan), Union City, CA, USA – Pictures
Joined the Bay Area Burmese Community for the annual Burmese New Year Water Festival at Kennedy Park in Union City from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
Activities included a water play area, fashion show, traditional culture thingyan dance, elderly homage ceremony, and water festival music entertainment as well as traditional food.
The Thingyan Water Festival is celebrated by all major ethnic and religious groups in Myanmar (Burma) and marks the start of the Burmese New Year which occurs in mid-April. Water is symbolic for washing away past sins to start the New Year physically and spiritually purified.
The Bay Area Burmese New Year Festival (Thingyan) promotes cultural diversity and is essential for strengthening democratic values in the San Francisco Bay Area through the development of intercultural awareness.
Kids N Kites Festival at Central Park, Fremont, CA, USA – Pictures
The City of Fremont Parks and Recreation Department is holding its annual Kids n Kites Festival on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The festival, presented by Dale Hardware and Washington Township Medical Foundation, is located within Central Park, next to Aqua Adventure Waterpark.
The festival is free to the public and included free kites to the first 3,000 children in attendance.
There is live entertainment on the main stage, interactive booths highlighting summer activities, play area for the kids, food, and more. The festival has something fun for everyone!
On the same day, Aqua Adventure offered a Pre-season Splash (weather permitting) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a special one-time entrance price of $6 per person, along with concessions specials. The Waterpark will officially open for business on Saturday, May 21. Both events are guaranteed to be great fun for the entire family!
